Finally! A weekend down the shore.

We went down late Thursday night through Sunday and stayed at one of our favorite places.

They include breakfast and dinner. It’s amazing. The biscuits are transcendent.

It’s old school and authentic. No air conditioning, phones in the room, or cable.

Tall ceilings, shutter doors and ceiling fans keep the cool ocean breeze circulating.

We always stay in the same room on the 3rd floor, room 72. This year though we had two other ones for the parents, room 71 & 95 (kids got 72).

While down the shore, we always do the same things.
Walk around.

See the sights we’ve seen a million different times.

Go to the beach.

Shop.

Visit our favorite stores.

Dad ‘L’, Mike, Rob, Dad ‘A’, Mom ‘A’, Allison, Diggie, Mom ‘L’
(This is the only group shot I took of everyone. Oops!)

Swain’s is more than just stain & paint. Their housewares section is amazing! But I was pretty fascinated by the fake food scattered everywhere.

The moms & I had way to much fun in the antique / tea shop.

The deer head did not come home with us.

The Dad’s held these chairs down while the girls exercised the plastic.

A significant amount of time was spent sitting on the porch.

The Chalfonte has the best porch. ever.

All the awnings are from Friants in Mt. Holly, NJ.

Rob read.

Dad organized bills.

Diggie found an open node.

I took pictures.

The Chalfonte also has the biggest urinal ever.

Showed the A’s the cupola. (see very 1st pic. the little room at the top)

Saturday night,

we went on a ghost tour.

This is not something we usually do.

It was very cool.

Rob wasn’t a fan of the people with the McCain buttons.

Afterward, Mike was hungry for pizza.

We watched a little of the Olympics while waiting for our pie.

Before racing back to the hotel, to catch Michael Phelps win his 8th gold medal.

After breakfast on Sunday…

we stopped at Fralingers and Mom got ridiculous amounts of taffy.

The End.
ps – Thank you to Mr. Bill for letting me borrow your super-sweet camera!
Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us Saturday!! We hope you had as much fun as we did!
If you took pictures, we’d love to see them. Our photog – University of the Arts photography student, Kat – got some great ones. But we know she couldn’t be everywhere all the time. If you’ve got pictures, email us (robandcarrie@gmail.com), mail us a CD, or upload them to Flickr (and shoot us the link) so we can download them. Or come over with your memory card and upload them straight to our computer. Thanks guys!!!
And one teaser from Kat -

She’s got a few more over there, if you want to check them out.
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday, dear Robert!
Happy birthday, to you!!
and many more…..

Happy 25th!!
So after getting even more irritated with the CVS photo site, I looked for a better solution. And – apparently – I’m a giant idiot for not knowing this earlier.
I’ve got ALL of our pro wedding pics uploaded to flickr. I <3 flickr. I thought that I didn’t have time to order prints from then because I thought it was all mail order. I was mistaken. Flickr has a partner ship with Target with in-store pickup (oooOOOOoooo).
I placed the order last night at about 11pm, so we’ll see. The confirmation said that it would take 24 hours (not the 1hr the site says) because I got more than 100 pics. Well…. I got a lot more than 100 pics. (I stink at picking. Just ask my photogs.) I didn’t get a call today but I’m hoping to get one tomorrow. really. really. hoping. Perhaps I’ll call the store and check in.
Thank you for all the suggestions! I really do appreciate them. I’ll let you know how it all works out when I pick them up.
I’ve been trying to upload photos to cvs’ photo site on and off all day. I tried uploading them all at once, got an error. Figured that it was too many. Tried a batch of 50 pics; error. Batch of 10; error. Tried their 1by1 uploader, did 20 and it’s been saying “Uploading” for the past 2 hours. I know they’re big files but 2 hours?! C’mon! I don’t think it’s working.
I really want some of the pics printed out for Saturday but (of course) I forgot to order them a couple weeks ago. So now I need to print them locally. I thought CVS would be the obvious choice. Plus they’re having a sale. Who doesn’t like a sale?!?
Unfortunately the sale is of no use to me if I can’t upload them to the @#(*$&@ site. GAH!!
